Denise Rucinski

I joined AAA Northway Travel Center in May of 2014. 2015 will mark 20 years of being a travel agent and I have loved every minute of it. After graduating from Spencer's Business Institute, my first job in travel was a cruise only agency. I learned a lot about cruises, the cruise lines, working with individual as well as groups. It was a good base because that knowledge has transferred to all other parts of the travel industry. My favorite bookings for travel are Honeymoons; to be able to put together a romantic get-a-way and help the bride and groom sort through all of the details to have that perfect vacation is a wonderful feeling. I continue to update my knowledge of the world and suppliers by attending trainings whenever possible. I love to travel and have been to many parts of the world including Bermuda, Aruba, Turks, Cancun, Barbados, many islands on cruise ships, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Canada, Hawaii and many parts of the US. 

My favorite trip was a river cruise from Amsterdam to Paris. The whole experience was wonderful. I enjoyed stepping off the ship at the ports and hearing about the history, seeing the medieval structures and exploring the local shops and markets. It happened to be Mother's Day in Amsterdam when I arrived, the flower markets were overflowing with beautiful plants in full bloom. I was able to see diamonds being cut in Antwerp Belgium and purchase cologne in Cologne Germany. At the end of the cruise I took a high-speed train to Paris, saw the Eiffel Tower up-close took lots of pictures and fell in love with the city of lights.
